Stagebox was one of the first products available to combine high quality video transport with IEEE1588 timing capability. Now we’ve added the SMPTE2059 mode, the standard adopted by the video broadcast market to replace analogue genlock and to provide accurate studio timing over IP infrastructure.
Built upon the IEEE1588 timing protocol, SMPTE2059 adds a number of new profile elements designed at improving lock time and stability, and including messaging metadata to allow studio equipment to accurately display Timecode across both 50Hz and 59.94Hz regions.
Each Stagebox has the ability to become a network Master or Slave determined by the Best Master Clock Algorithm (BMCA). Based on the PTP messaging and sync signals, Stagebox will reproduce phase accurate genlock and timecode.
